Who can use Koalu
- A parent or legal guardian (18+) creates the family account and adds each child. Children use Koalu only under that account, on a family device, with the parent's consent confirmed by email.
- Koalu is made for children aged 4–12. It is not for adults' own use and not a substitute for school.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and PIN private and for who uses the device.
What Koalu is — and isn't
- Koalu is an AI learning companion. The companion is a computer program, not a person, and it says so. Its answers can be wrong; it teaches and encourages, it does not grade or certify.
- It is not medical, psychological, legal or educational-professional advice. If a child seems unwell or unsafe, the companion asks them to talk to a trusted grown-up and alerts you; it does not counsel. In an emergency call 911 (US) or your local emergency number.
- A companion chatbot may not be suitable for every child. You decide whether, when and how long your child uses it, and you can read every conversation.
- During the free trial Koalu is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and may change or be interrupted. Nothing is charged during the trial; we will ask you before any paid plan.
Your part
- Supervise your child's use as you see fit; the Parent Hub, time limits, bedtime and blocked topics are there for you.
- Don't try to use Koalu to get content that is unsuitable for children, to extract or attack the service, or to upload other people's personal information or copyrighted material.
- Tell us (reply to any Koalu email) if the companion says something it shouldn't have. We read every report.
Privacy
- What we collect, who processes it, how long we keep it and your rights are in the Privacy & safety notice, which is part of these terms. We never sell or share children's data and never show ads.
- You can export or delete everything at any time in Family settings; deleting the family account ends these terms.
Ending, changes, liability
- You can stop at any time by deleting the account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts children at risk.
- We will email the account address before any material change to these terms or the privacy notice.
- To the extent the law allows, our liability for the trial is limited to what you paid for it (nothing). This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.
