Getting started with Koalu
Five minutes, once. Then your child just taps the icon.
Everything below, on screen, with voice: from the link to the icon on the home screen.
What Koalu does (1 minute)
- 1Open the link on the iPad
In Safari, open the link you received. It already carries your invite code and language.
- 2Create the family account
Your email, a password, and a 4-digit Parent PIN (the PIN opens the Parent Hub — keep it from little fingers). Tick the parent consent box.
- 3Add each child
First name, age, grade, language (add a second language if you like), a few interests and a companion. Add all your children — each gets their own profile and progress.
- 4Let the child name the tutor
The first time a child opens their profile, the tutor asks “What do you want to call me?” — they pick the look and any name.
- 5Add to Home Screen
Tap the Share button in Safari (the square with the arrow), then “Add to Home Screen”. Koalu now opens like an app, full screen, with its own icon.

The first time the child taps the big microphone, Safari asks once. Tap Allow. Typing always works too.
Which devices?
Any iPad or Android tablet with a camera works best; a phone works too. Always use Safari on iPad (Chrome on iPad cannot use the microphone).
Two parents?
Both can sign in with the same family email and password.
Can my child do harm?
No purchases, no links out, no strangers. The tutor never asks for personal information, and you see everything in the Parent Hub.
